God has the plans

Nine so very short years ago today I alternately sat in the waiting room watching the horrors of 9/11 on the TV, with sitting by your mother's side watching the monitor showing the wonder of your heartbeat. My emotions were jumping back and forth--sad to happy; sad to 'what kind of world are you going to know', but happy because my first grandchild was about to be born. Though the horror of 9/11 will always be remembered on your birthday, I praise God that the joy of you was His promise to us that He is in control. And He does have a plan for each of us.
So Happy, Happy 9th Birthday my precious Jacob. These last nine years have been the best of my life. You are a joyful and wonderful gift from God.

I love you, MiMi

It's been too long!!!

It has been a while since I updated this online journal. It seems like only yesterday school was winding down. Now it has started back again! I enjoyed my little taste of heaven alot this summer.
Myles and Grace got to come over a few times a spend time with us. Of course they want the other three here so at times I had all five here. I loved it. I love to hear them playing in the yard, swinging, playing ball, racing each other, and especially listening in on their conversations. Jacob got the wild, I mean wonderful, idea to have a lemonade stand. So they did. On the deck in the backyard. They made lemonade, a peanut butter vanilla wafers. Then they brought out cups and napkins. Then they robbed papa and me and my car for all our change. We all had our fill of great lemonade and cookies. They
had a ball doing it.

Katie and Mommy and me all went with Nana and Katie's cousin Connor to the American Girl store in Georgia. We spent the night and shopped all day. We had breakfast then shopped then had lunch at the bistro. So good.

Then Katie had Julie's ears pierced. Bought pj's for her and Lanie (the American Girl she went to get, it is the doll of the year). After all that hard work Katie and Lanie and Connor and her American Girl, and Connor twin sisters all rode the carosel!

Then it was time to go home!

Easter 2010

We had us a great Easter day today.  After Mike cooked his Easter dinner (he can cook, what can I say) Amy, Kevin and Jason hid about 300 eggs.  The kids had so much fun hunting for their surprise egg.  This egg had $5.00 in it so they could only find one.  They didn't know that though.  Then they were to bring it to me and buy a surprise.  I had the girls a video and the older boys a book.  Caleb got an iron man motorcyle.  Then they got to keep their $5 too. duh.
After the fun, Caleb was ready for some BALL!!!

Well we had our Christmas family gathering tonight. The kids were so excited to open presents. We still have to make our trip to Amy's to take some Santa stuff. Waiting for kids to be close to sleep!!!

Jacob is 8, Myles is 8, or will be on the 31st, Grace is 7, Katie is 6 and Caleb is 4. These are happy times. Caleb is pumped for Santa.

Write more in the p.m. tomorrow after we see what Santa brought them.

We can get excited about Santa, cause we rest assured that they each one, are well aware that CHRISTmas is all about CHRIST!!!!!

whats been going on...

Well I have not posted anything in quite a while. Guess that kinda tells ya what an action packed life I lead huh? I cannot believe January, February, March and April has past by so quickly. Now it is May and thunderstorms and tornadoes are a daily occurance. And I am not going to say how many times I have watched Twilight or how many times I have read all the books. They are just so good!

I rarely get to see Myles and Grace anymore. They are in B'ham and Amy is in Gadsden. Her three keep me busy! Sometimes I have all five of them here for a night or two!!!

Jacob is maturing so much everytime I see him. He is in the first grade but reading on a fourth grade level. He finally let it click that what he is reading has a mental picture to go with it! He reads to his little sister and brother also. Good practice.

Katie never had her birthday party and she wants to have a swimming party now. So right now it will be on June 6th at their country club in Gadsden.. I think Caleb is looking forward to it as much as she is!! He loves swimming better than chocolate donuts!

Katie's ballet recital is also that evening.

And Caleb is Caleb!

Amy bought her a Canon Rebel ssi so I will have pictures to post soon.I am going to keep this blog up more, try to type on it more each day.

Oh yeah, our little Katie enrolled for public Kindergarten the other day and is so excited. Takes me back to when Amy got on that school bus for the first time. I was watching from my window and saw her pony tailed head bounce up and down at the bus driver. I asked her later what the driver was asking her and she said, " She wanted to know if I was old enough to go to school."Amy wanted to go to school and ride that bus from the age of three and then in junior high she wouldn't be caught dead on one!!

Katie and Caleb

Well I got to spend some quality time with Katie and Caleb today and yesterday. Katie had her Christmas program at her school and then both she and Caleb came to my house to spend the night. Nana, one of their other grandmothers, came and got Katiebug yesterday and took her to her house, and I took Caleb home CAUSE he wanted to go home to his MOMMA!!! Talk about a TOUGH mommas boy that is our Caleb. He is so ALL BOY but a mommas little darlin' too. Today we played "What was that? I heard something?" then we SNUCK all over the house looking for whatever made that sound that we really didn't hear!!! We slayed us some tigers and mean guys all over their house!!

I wish I could video little Caleb's thoughts'

Caleb is so funny we just never know what is going through his mind. But we get a hint when he comes out with funny little anecdotes that he fully believes is real. Like how he was positive that Michael Phelps was going to come to his birthday party. He watched the olympics every night and was GLUED to the tv when Michael swam. The olympics were in August and his birthday was in September. He started swimming at the country club solely from watching Michael swim. He was so funny standing on the side of the pool bent over with his arm back, and DIVING in. I am serious. He would actually dive and then do exactly like Michael did with the little 'body wave' and go a long way before coming up for air. After repeatedly doing this he convinced his mom Amy that he didn't need his life jacket. And sure enough he didn't. He would 'dive' in head first and do the little fishtail thingy and then come up for air then swim to the side. I'll see if I can't find a video of it.

Caleb is just so smart and fun to be around. Once we were driving down the road and a tractortrailer, without the trailer, passed us and Caleb laughed and said "look he don't have a tail." I thought it was so cute that he thought the trailer was a tail!

That leads me to this story, and Amy may make me take it off, but I think it is just too cute to forget. Amy was getting Katie ready for her ballet class and Caleb came into her room. He did a double take and said, "You don't have a tail!" Amy laughed and said, "a tail? You don't have a tail either!" To which Caleb exclaimed, "Yes I do!" and proceded to pull his pants down to show her! Amy cracked up and said, "Caleb that is not a tail, it is a (insert correct name here, I don't won't someone coming to my blog because they googled certain words!) and girls don't have those." We just never know what is going on in that cute little head of his. I think three and four year olds are the most fun age to just listen to, or even carry on a conversation with.

Here is a video of him practicing calling Michael Phelps to invite him to his 3 yr old birthday party... well it won't upload, I'll figure it out and show it later, really cute.
